This New Moon in Aries is coming in hot, and for some of us, that means literarlly AND astrologically! The heat is rising and so are our emotions with this new moon in the first sign of a new astrological cycle. Let’s get into what this new moon means for the collecitve and as a bonus, paid subscribers get a deeper dive and horoscopes for Aries season. Enjoy! <3

This spring season has activated me! Got me wanting to be skin out in the city like Nu Nu for no other reason than to be seen, mmkay!

Today’s (April 17) New Moon in Aries feels extra special to me. It’s a new moon (the beginning of a new lunar cycle), during a solar year (the beginning of a planetary cycle), it’s in the very first degrees of Aries (the beginning of the zodiac), but its ruler, Mars, is in debilitation in Pisces.

Speaking of firts, my very first post on here was also about the New Moon in Aries! I can’t believe how quickly time flies!

The burst of energy from the Sun and Moon in Aries may feel overwhelming or empowering, depending on how it hits your chart. The conjunction Mars is making with Saturn and Neptune in Pisces may make us feel disembodied or confused about how to tap into this energy, but the sextile with Pluto in Capricorn gives us some ground to get our footing.

Mars rules the body and in Pisces, the sign of diffusion, dissolving, and merging, it can make us feel disconnected. Until about May 5 when the last of these Mars transits ends, tending to our bodies is emphasized, and I love that this astrological call coincides with the ways we tend the land during this season. Cream yuh skin, drink yuh water, and put that shit on!

These Mars transits are not asking for perfection. They are giving us space to breathe and integrate, to plant the seeds of what we want for the future and stay open to what grows. When we take care of our physical needs and connect our mind with our body, it becomes easier to act (Mars) from a place of clarity rather than a need to do something just for the sake of doing something.

As Mars bumps up against the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, it can make us feel especially frustrated with the gap between our ideals and reality, and all the Aries energy can make us unusually snappy or prickly. Usually, Mars inspires us to jump right in and get going, even when there’s no clear direction, but Mars in Pisces wants us to slow down and be present.
