How about that recent Full Moon in Libra, huh? As the dust settles from the emotionally tumultuous Full Moon, the Sun enters Taurus and Jupiter enters Gemini on Wednesday, May 14 (EST). These transits are perfect for helping us express the feelings that the Moon kicked up earlier this week. In today’s post, we’ll chat about the recent Full Moon, dip our toes into Taurus’s medical astrology profile, and paid subscribers get some journal prompts to continue their study of Taurus in their charts. Enjoy! <3
Monday’s Full Moon sat in the 17th Lunar Mansion guarded by Mars and Saturn as it moved through the last decant of Libra into the first decant of Scorpio. With all this Martian and Saturnian energy guarding Libra’s Venusian energy, this lunation may have kicked up feelings of rage, struggle, or a need to protect ourselves and our self-worth. I don’t know about you, but I wanted all my licks back. With interest.
If they wanna be funny, we can be hilarious. Trickster energy isn’t just about playing games but about using cleverness and skill to turn tides in our favor, often through forming unlikely alliances by talking a good talk.
The traditional image of this lunar mansion is of a monkey trapped in a cage, and the monkey can represent trickster energy, thieves of our joy and materials, or the metaphorical monkeys on our backs. If you’ve been wronged by systems, loved ones, or enemies, this Full Moon may have made you want (and seek) justice. This Full Moon reminded us of our sovereignty over our minds, bodies, and spirits, and encouraged us to reject anyone or anything that seeks to wrest it from us. If they wanna be funny, we can be hilarious. Trickster energy isn’t just about playing games but about using cleverness and skill to turn tides in our favor, often through forming unlikely alliances by talking a good talk. With the Sun moving into Taurus, the ruler of our throats and voices, the same day Jupiter moves into Gemini, the Big Trickster of the zodiac, we can carry this transformative energy with us through the following month.
The Sun in Taurus and Jupiter in Gemini kick off the season for embodiment, communication, and interconnection. Venus, the planet of relationships and values, rules Taurus, the domain of our material comforts and how we use our voice to express ourselves. Taurus’s lessons teach us that our relationships with each other and the land (where we get our material comforts) can be containers for embodying our values and sources of deep healing. Since Taurus rules the throat, our voices—verbally sharing what we feel with others from the heart—help us be more honest with ourselves and others. Closed mouths don’t get fed, and there’s so much beauty and opportunity for deeper connection on the other side of being vulnerable.

Being human and living an embodied experience where we share ourselves while giving others the space to do the same is messy and imperfect, and Taurus reminds us of that. The relationships that help us feel embodied and fully present when we’re in them create space for all the mess, imperfections, joy, and uniqueness that make us who we are. Expansive, boundary testing Jupiter in chatty, curious Gemini supports our quest to strengthen our relationships and capacity to hold the dualities of life. We can be hurting and healing, raging and laughing, needing space for ourselves while desiring connection, all at once.
