Last Saturday, I met up with some friends for some crafting in both the artistic and spiritual sense. One of my friends brought several of their decks for us to divine before crafting our collages and there were audible sighs from each of us after our divinations. Each of our readings gave some variation of CYA (cover your ass) and we’re so tired of this Grandpa, but the Universe always reminds us that that’s too damn bad. Today’s First Quarter Moon in Scorpio really drives the point home.
Today’s Moon in the 19th Lunar Mansion continues the story of the last Full Moon in Scorpio back in May. That full moon lesson was about self-sacrifice and devotion to people or causes, but this moon warns us about loss due to destructive energies, whether external or internal. Since this moon is in Scorpio, the destructive calls may be coming from inside the house, and the square between the Moon and Saturn can bring up insecurities or resentments that can lead to self-sabotage. This moon invites us to clear the path for next week’s cosmic weather and lessons by remembering that we have to let go of some things to make space for something new. When we hold on to things for too long, our hands can’t be open to receive any incoming blessings.
If you’d like to read more about the lessons the First Quarter Moon is expanding on, I wrote about them and offered some prompts for reflections.
